Larkyn Ainsley Studebaker came into our lives on Sunday May 31, 09 right at noon. She was 8 pounds 20.5 inches. She is absolutely stunning in every way. She looks just like her dad with a few things from her momma. She has what Logan likes to call "hound dog cheeks" lol. I love to kiss these adorable cheeks... whoever thought so many kisses could be given in 1 day. She has blonde / brown hair and I honestly think she will have bright blue eyes just like Logan.
I honestly didn't ever think I could love another as much as I love Larkyn. I have waited a long time to be a mother and I am extremely grateful to have a healthy beautiful little girl. I am extremely blessed to be given something as precious as Larkyn. I hope that I can live up to Heavenly Father's expectations for being her mother and teach her all that she needs to know in this life.
Logan and Larkyn already have a special bond. He can kiss her neck when she gets fussy and she will instantly stop. When I do this I get the opposite reaction lol. She loves his voice and laying in his arms is so soothing for her. I know Logan is going to be an amazing father and example for her to follow.
Quick insight on how our labor and delivery went: My water broke (finally) at 1:00 am Sunday morning. (We think it was the hot wings I ate for dinner haha!!!) I just happended to be in the kitchen trying to eat an otterpop. Ha! And yes it was an explosion and I would have died if this would have happened on my couch or clean sheets lol. We got to the hospital at 2 am and they started to do their tests to make sure it was my water that broke and not urine. Ya of course the tests came back negative and finally at about 3 am the nurse came in and she said that they finally saw the "fern" on the slide with the water juices on it. My epidural was administered at 3:30 by Dr. Garnder and he did an amazing job! I didnt feel a thing. I think he thought I was crazy because I kept thanking him for being so quick!! My contractions at this point were any where from 1.5 minutes to 3 minutes apart, but I wasn't really dialated. I was at a 4, but things kind of came to a halt there for a while, so the nurse gave be petocin (spelling??). Baby Larkyn didnt really like this and so they took me off the petocin and let me and her relax for a while. Nurse Katie checked me at 8:30 ish and not much had really changed, she checked me again at 9:30 and I was at a hundred percent!!! YEAH! Again she let me relax for about an hour while she set up the room and by 10:30 am we were pushing. I was so tired from lack of sleep and lack of food, so what happened... YES by about 11:15 I had an emotional break down. I started to ball my head off and I honestly didn't think I was going to survive pushing.. That is hard work! Dr Dayton came in about 11:30 to help me deliver her and he had to use forceps!! OUCH! I hope no one has to go through that. It wasn't the pain that hurt but the pressure. Maybe that doesnt make sense?? Noon finally rolled around and an extremely exhausted Haylie finally had her precious baby girl laying on her stomach. I was so exhausted I could barely hang on to her.. plus she was pretty slimey. They cleaned Larkyn up and I finally got to hold her it was at this point that Logan finally cried! I knew he would too!! He did very well during this whole adventure though. I was kind of worried he was going to pass out, but he didnt. He was an amazing coach to have during the pushing and he encouraged me with positive humor the whole time! My mom was also apart of this coaching and she did very well. She wasnt planning on helping out, but she kind of got volunteered for the job haha. There are so many other details, but those are kind of boring.
I am just grateful that everything went well for us and that Larkyn is here for me to hold. She has so many people that care for her and love her with all their hearts.
Thanks for everyone's support! We really do appreciate everything!!

Life
I know I have been sooo slacking when it comes to updating our blog BUT we have been sooo busy! Well atleast that is the excuse I am going to use. Ha!
Baby Update: We had one of our last (cross our fingers) doctor appointments on Monday... Hooray! Baby Larkyn is doing just great! She is still at -2 station, dialated to a one.. but I AM 70% efaced! The doc says she is an average size baby... not too big... not too small. He thinks she will weigh in some where between 7-8lbs. Yes I know that is a big range, but I was beginning to think I was carrying a 15lb baby LOL. She is in the right position and she stays there. I think it is so amazing how the body works! Her room... well I am hoping to get everything hung on the walls (3 dragon flies and her name) this weekend! I will definitely post pictures of that because it is SOOO cute! I need help organizing her room tho so if anyone has tips on where to put things I would appreciate it.
Logan & Haylie Update: Logan is a working man! He loves his job and working for his new boss. It was nice working with family the last few years, but his new boss is great and loves Logan and the business is going so wonderful and is gonna grow so big! There is a lot of potential for Logan and this new company. Logan has been working in the yard more... mostly due to my nagging... HA! But we finally got a tree planted and some grasses. Hopefully over the next few weeks we will get more planted. Haylie... well I am a working woman! Yes I am still at work full time and will be until the babe comes. I have been sewing more and making the cutest hair clips I am so excited to reveal them! I have lots of fabric to make more skirts and I am going to attempt at a dress. Hopefully this will be something that I can do to make some extra mula! I will have to take pictures when I get them done and get some feedback from everyone. Me and photography have kind of gone to the way side, but I do have a shoot tomorrow morning and I am so excited!

baby room is in full bloom

Here are some pictures of what we did this weekend... and the weekend before... and the weekend before...
Baby Larkyn's room is painted ... with just a few touch ups to do :). My amazing husband did most of the work. He has been working hard and putting up with me changing my mind for the last 7 months.. lol.
My mom came down on Saturday and made the bumper pad for me... well I guess we can say that I assisted her. I dont know what I would do without her at this point. I wanted Larkyn's room to be something no one has seen before and my great mom is there by my side putting up with me to help make my dream come true. She hasnt always agreed with what I want to do but we finally found all the right fabric that fits my style and that my mom thought was suitable... hahaha. Her room truely is going to be one of a kind. Anyone is more then welcome to stop by and see it anytime. I am just waiting on the dragon flies to be finished and her name.. and Logan is working on completing the baby changing table. It is all slowly coming together. It has taken a lot for me to come to terms with the fact that everything isn't going to be done before baby shower on the 18th. Darn it! We were so close :)
32 weeks down 8 to go! Logan and I have our first prenatal class on Thursday night so wish us luck!! I think Logan might need it more then me ... hahaha.

10 Weeks Left..
Its official.. I only have ten weeks left and the little bundle of joy will finally be here!!! YEAH!
Everything is going great! The doctors tell me I am right on track. She is getting so big and strong tho... Its crazy when you can see her move and then my whole stomach transforms.. LOL. Her kicks are getting stronger which I guess is a good sign even tho sometimes it can be a bit uncomfortable. Logan thinks I am crazy when I tell him how funny she is... but she has a routine that she follows almost daily, you can rub my stomach and its like it tickles her or something... cuz she gets all wiggly, when you talk about her and say her name she moves around.. (maybe its just a coincidence..), for some reason she wiggles a lot when I listen to Carrie Underwood (Logan thinks that its because she hates country lol... ). In the mornings when I am driving to work she starts to wiggle around 7:15 almost on the dot every day... So I always tell her good morning :). I think she has a little personality already and I can't wait for her to get here!!
Last Saturday my mom and I went on a fabric hunt to make a quilt and bumper pad. OH MY.. we found the cutest stuff at Pine Needles at Gardner Village. My mom is coming down this Saturday to help me make it... and I can't wait! Her room is going to have a lot of vibrant colors in it.
WISH ME LUCK!!

Rhogam 101
So on Monday I went to the lab at Utah Valley to get my rhogam shot... DUn DUn Dunnnn
Keep in mind that I was just there the Friday before to get my blood drawn for the diabetes test and the nurse must have hit a muscle or something because my arm has never hurt to bad in my life!! lol. So I was a little hesitant to go back...
I check in at the lab and they send me to the 4th floor...
The nurse takes me back asks me a few questions about my history and the baby and then she says "I am gonna need you to lean over the bed"
WHAT?!?! Who says things like that??
I looked at her with shock and said "Where on earth are you planning on sticking that needle!?!?" I honestly thought she was going to give me the shot in my BUTT!!! OUCH... that would hurt.
She kind of gave me a funny look... which didn't help at all... But then she laughed and said she was gonna give me the shot in my hip.
Sigh oh relief... AHHH
I got a shot for the very first time in my hip... what an experience.
I would recommend that all shots be given there because it didnt hurt at all and the muscle didnt get nearly as sore as getting shots in the arm.. :)

22 weeks pReGo
So here I am at 22 weeks... Sticking straight out! LOL. I think that this picture makes me look smaller than I actually am. I am still not really diggin' the maternity clothes... but this green shirt is from Shade maternity and its pretty comfy :). I am still in my regular jeans and I am determined to stay there.. LOL
Speaking of maternity clothes... I need to find a cute.. maybe off white dress to wear to my brothers wedding in March. We are going to be in Florida so the weather will be warm. Please let me know if you see any cute maternity dresses or other dresses that I might fit in to. I have less then 6 weeks... so girls I need your help!!
Logan and I bought our crib! Hip Hip Hooray!! When it comes I will post pictures because it is absolutely adorable and just what I wanted. I still haven't really decided what I want to do with the nursery. I am in love with doing a bali safari look (teal, green, brown and maybe some plum) but at the same time I want to do hot pink, black and white... lol. With lots and lots of zebra print! Logan thinks I change my mind too much... which he is probably right. Ok, no he is right!!

Its a GIRL!!!

I know it has been over a week since we have found out... But we are having a GIRL!!! Hooray for little girls. Here are some of the ultrasound pictures from the doctors office. She was so fun to watch and she was definitely working the camera... :) If you look closely at the profile picture it almost looks like she smiled. You can see her lips, nose and chin! Awe so cute! She was opening and closing her hands for us and wiggling her feet. It was so amazing to watch her move around. She is healthy and everything seems to be growing in the right spots. I think she likes it when I eat popcorn and oranges because she really gets going... Its bad when I am sitting at my desk laughing at what looks like nothing. :) Let me know if you have any questions. i will try to post more soon. Life is too busy sometimes! Love you all!
